    My husband, daughter, son-in-law and I took a motorcycle trip specifically to try Gran’daddy’s. The pulled pork, ribs and loaded chili dog were to die for! WELL WORTH THE TRIP! We will be back.

    I have never understood the attraction of pulled-pork until I took a road trip to Gran’Daddy’s; I was amazed at the soft texture and rich smoky flavor of the meat. The bbq sauce was a very good addition to the flavor but didn’t overwhelm the meat. I Recently attended a family reunion pig roast in N. Carolina but Ralph’s pork beat that by a mile! I took 1/2 lb of brisket home for my born-in-N.Carolina, brisket-loving father-in-law and his reaction was “wow, that is very good”. He immediately started talking about a road trip. Being a ribs fan I plan to sample them on my next visit – can’t wait!

    Gran’daddy’s has the best damn bbq in the state of CT!! The beef brisket has THE best smokey flavor and I have never had better. Bbq sauce is homemade and delicious! Absolutely LOVE the Sweet Potato Fries. Every time my fiance and I go out to eat here, we bring more and more people and they all LOVE it too!! Gran’daddy’s will be one of our regular outings for the rest of our lives!

    We were down in the area and decided on trying your BBQ. It was very delish the brisket and pull pork was tender and moist and your bbq sauce accompanied the delicate smoked flavor nicely.

    We moved back up north from South Carolina a year ago. We have driven by this place a number of times. Finally stopped in for dinner and we have to agree….It’s the best Southern BBQ in the North!!!!. If you leave Gran’daddy’s Smokehouse hungry, it’s your own fault. Great Food, Great Service, Great People. Put it on our favorite places to eat list.

    I Haven’t Had RIBS like These since I lived DOWN IN GEORGIA, absolutely YUMMY,
    HIS HOMEMADE SAUCES ARE TRULY WONDERFUL AND COMPLIMENT THE RIBS PERFECTLY, it’s all about the food. here people. The Ribs warm up well and are even better the next day, The CHILI is made with smoked steak and is just wonderful. This IS REAL DOWN HOME BBQ FOLKS!!!! GREAT JOB GOOD LUCK WE WILL BE BACK

    This place has the best ribs anywhere!!!! If you try them you will love them. We have been there 4 times so far and they have been more than nice to us. I have yet to find a place that makes better ribs. It is so good we travel about 30 miles to go there from RI. If you go you will not be disappointed. Laid back atmosphere

    Our first experience with Gran’daddy’s was on Superbowl Sunday and the meat was fantastic and the bbq sauce on the side had terrific flavor. The pan included pulled pork, ribs, sausage, wings and brisket. My favorite was the pork, but everything had a smokey flavor that was just right, and the bbq sauce was the icing on the cake. My 16 year old son who’s plate overflowed summed it up as the best carnivore dinner ever!

    I have eaten here a total of six times so far and can say hands down, this is one of my favorite places to eat in the area! I’ve had the brisket and ribs as well and was not disappointed with either. The fries are really good, not greasy and there is some type of seasoned salt added to them that make them very tasty. I found the prices to be very reasonable and would definately recommed this wonderful local business to anyone!!

    It’s nice to have a BBQ joint in the area. Being from Kansas City, I was rather disappointed to see (when I moved here) that there were no BBQ places in the area. Gran’daddy’s has GOOD food. Their sandwiches (only thing I’ve had so far) are BIG! They pile a lot of meat on them. The fries are good, too! I am a BIG BBQ fan and I love this place! Two thumbs up!

    I Went here today for the first time with my husband and father. The food was absolutely delicious. BBQ sauce is perfect- just the way I like it- sweet & smokey but not too much of either. The meat was tender, both the sweet potato fries and the regular crinkle cut fries were delicious. If we weren’t so full, we’d be going back for dinner. Try it!

    Great authentic barbecue joint! The owner does all his own stuff. If you’re after real southern bbq there’s nothing like this within 25 miles. Take home some Polish sausage – super. Catch the specials or platters.

    Came in on Saturday. The prices here are so reasonable. We found two meals on their menu that gave us a taste of all the meats. The shining star of this place is that delicious smoked meat! My dinner came with pulled pork, 2 ribs, brisket, cole slaw and fries. out of all three meats, my boyfriend and I agreed hands down that the pulled pork was the best, second was the ribs, then the brisket. now, mind you there is nothing at all wrong with the brisket, its delicious but when it comes to BBQ I love my pork. Cole slaw was crisp and tangy. the fries were crinkle cut. The spicy bbq sauce was so addicting. I was happy she gave us 4 little plastic cups worth because we took the ones we didn’t use home. I will use some on some chicken this week.
    We definatly plan to go back very soon. I would like to try their chicken and smoked sausage next and also their homemade sides.

    Everything I’ve eaten here has been AWESOME! From the sweet potato fries to the brisket sandwich. And I’m a huge sweet potato fan, and it has been tough finding it around town. They have different sauces from mild to hot, I personally enjoy the kick of the hot. You can taste the slow cooked, smokiness in the meat. They serve chicken, pork, beef and fish.The atmosphere is very laid back and unassuming; it has a mom and pop kind of feel. It’s definitely worth it. The place is BYOB, I have yet to take advantage of that.
